Electrical Construction & Maintenance (certificate)

The Electrical Construction & Maintenance program gives students the skills needed to gain employment as residential, commercial and industrial construction electricians.

Possible jobs in this field include, but are not limited to, electrician, inside wireman, electrical technician, industrial electrician, and apprentice. These jobs focus on installing, maintaining and repairing electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Construction Electricians ensure the work is in accordance with relevant codes. They may also install or service street lights, intercom systems, or electrical control systems.

Graduates of the Electrical Construction & Maintenance program at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology have become independent contractors, worked for various electrical and construction based firms and have found employment with large, industrial companies such as Con Agra Food, Wilco Electric, Inc. and more. Opportunities exist for graduates to start up their own small business as well with the skills received in this program.
