Mechanical Engineering Technology

In the Mechanical Engineering Technology program, you’ll learn to visualize objects in three dimensions, describe objects with manual and computer-aided drafting (CAD) techniques, and apply mechanical engineering principles to design products, tools, and equipment for a manufacturing-oriented industry.

The program’s affiliations with industry are maintained through an advisory committee and the local chapter of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).

Some graduates of the Mechanical Engineering Technology program at Thaddeus Stevens get to work in the industry right away, while others continue their education and pursue a higher degree. Opportunities are abundant regardless of which path you select.
